From the Earth to Excellence – AVPA celebrates exceptional producers from around the world

For over twenty years, the Agency for the Valorization of Agricultural Products – AVPA has been working to promote and recognize exceptional agricultural producers. With more than 1,000 members from 50 countries, the association is committed to a high-quality, responsible agriculture rooted in local territories and open to the world.

The 23rd edition of the "World Edible Oils" contest perfectly embodies this mission. With more than 300 oils in competition from 16 countries across 5 continents, it showcases the richness and diversity of the world’s olive-growing regions.

This competition is based on a rigorous two-step evaluation protocol. The first stage is a technical tasting, chaired by Christian Pinatel, a renowned expert in oleology, bringing together a jury specialized in sensory analysis. This is followed by a gastronomic tasting, involving taste professionals and chefs, attentive to culinary applications and consumer expectations.

On April 30, the results were revealed: 74 oils were awarded medals (23 Gold, 26 Silver, 25 Bronze), and 57 oils received the “Gourmet” certification, a mark of quality, finesse, and uniqueness.

Senator Marie-Pierre Monier graciously accepted to be the patron of the awards ceremony. Herself from a family of olive growers, the senator discovered the full sensory richness of the award-winning oils through our expert collaborator Paz Figares, gaining a deep understanding of the importance of this competition for what are often small, family-run productions.

It was therefore only natural that the official awards ceremony was held on June 19, 2025, in the prestigious René Coty Hall at the Luxembourg Palace. Producers, distributors, jury members, industry professionals, and institutional representatives gathered alongside the AVPA team to celebrate excellence.

Numerous embassies — Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Taiwan, Russia, Peru, Portugal — were present to proudly support their producers.

The ceremony concluded with a tasting cocktail, fostering exchanges between cultures, know-how, and visions for the future of agriculture.


This moment of celebration and recognition reflects the core values that AVPA has championed for over two decades: excellence, diversity, and respect for origin, as well as support for producers committed to demanding quality standards.
