For over twenty years, the association has brought together producers, distributors, connoisseurs, and food enthusiasts to celebrate the finest olive oils, highlighting their exceptional quality and diversity.
Each year, AVPA "World Edible Oils" contest has established itself as an essential reference in the industry, attracting producers from around the world eager to showcase the quality of their products.
On Monday, April 7, 2025, AVPA organized a tasting of the olive oils selected for the 23rd "World Edible Oils" contest. Led by the expert oleologist Paz Figares Mignot, this tasting allowed a group of passionate gastronomes to discover the finalists of this edition. This event was an opportunity to highlight the excellence of the oils in the running, made from the best olive varieties and unique blends, carefully selected.
The oils tasted spanned a wide range of flavors, from intensely green fruity to milder, riper fruity notes, thus revealing the richness and diversity of the terroirs and olive oil expertise from around the world. Each oil provided a unique sensory experience, offering the tasters a gastronomic journey into the heart of global olive oil production.
AVPA would like to warmly thank all the participants present at this tasting: Béatrice Arosio, Lionel Baunot, Daniel Bodenheimer, Agnès Blanchin, Fabrice Brossard, Laurent Courvoisier, Benjamin Dahan, Florence Delahaut, Pamela Dubois, Yannick Ferrant, Sami Hayoun, Muriel Hay Jonquer, Julie Mechali, Alexandra Monsacré, Milena Pecho, Eléonore Ricard, Arielle Sebag, Bassem Souidi, Eric Torlet. Special thanks also to Virginie Legrand for her contribution to the event. Her culinary expertise enhanced the experience by offering creative ideas to elevate these exceptional oils.
This tasting not only celebrated the best products of the year but also shared the passion and know-how of the producers, experts, and enthusiasts working toward the excellence of olive oil production.
The awards ceremony will take place on June 19, 2025, at the French Senate, a highly anticipated moment marking the pinnacle of this year’s "World Edible Oils" contest.
